What is s.t.e.m.?

STEM is...

...the bridging of science, technology, engineering, and math to promote problem solving through knowledge, innovation, and the ability to analyze and communicate ideas.

...the integration of science, technology, engineering, and math into real- life problem- solving situations.

...inquiry-based problem solving which integrates science, technology, engineering, and math using processes such as designing experiments, asking questions, and developing ideas to solve every day problems.

“My daughter had the awesome experience of participating in the Real I.M.P.A.C.T. workshop and she absolutely enjoyed it!." She has always talked about pursuing a career within the medical field but has now become open to looking into other careers in the engineering field.
~Emily Parent of 7th grader Jasmyn
Welcome, Parent, to Real I.M.P.A.C.T Center, Inc.! We are so excited that we can expose more girls to (STEM) science, technology, engineering, and math and teach them life lessons in the process. You can trust that the program(s) that you select for your child was well thought out and planned with parents and girls’ future in mind. By the time your child is at the grade-level to determine her pathway in high school or declare a major in college, we hope that our STEM programs will help her make a thorough decision in her career choice.

Our goal for parents is to work with you to hold your child accountable in preparing for their future. You may be reading this thinking, “My child is only in the 4th grade." And that may be true. She’s approaching the most impressionable time of her life and it is never too early to have a plan. Real I.M.PA.C.T would like to improve your child’s stride academically. The results of your child’s improvement is essential to understand the effectiveness of our current curriculum. Therefore, we ask for the following to aid us:

• Report Card Review (provided by parents)
• Standardized/Benchmark Testing (provided by parents in science and math)
• STEM Assessment (completed during each program)
• STEM Showcase (completed at the end of summer program)

We invite you to see what the excitement is all about in our world of STEM! During our Saturday workshop series, we look forward to you joining us for selected sessions open to the entire family. Each year we will host a Girl’s in STEM Showcase to continue to fund our programs and to allow our girls the chance to demonstrate what they have learned to their parents and the community.

Thank you for taking the steps to give your child a brighter future! We look forward to seeing your child in our upcoming camps!
